**Job Title: Carpenter**
**Job Description**
Candidates will engage in rough and finish carpentry for commercial buildings, hotels, and high-end residential homes. Tasks include working on acoustical ceilings, metal and wood studs, replacing doors and windows, as well as flooring, cabinetry, and high-end trim work. These properties are remodels and are vacant. There is a significant amount of travel involved.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform rough and finish carpentry on various projects.
+ Work on acoustical ceilings and metal and wood studs.
+ Replace doors and windows.
+ Install floors, cabinets, and high-end trim work.
+ Use hand and power tools effectively.
+ Read and interpret drawings to understand where walls need to be framed.
+ Install and hang doors, ensuring they are plumb.
+ Install acoustic ceilings.
**Essential Skills**
+ 2-8+ years of experience in commercial carpentry (a mix of 4 years commercial and 4 residential is acceptable).
+ Experience with framing using metal and wood studs.
+ Proficiency in window installation and door hanging, including hollow doors.
+ Acoustic ceiling experience.
+ Ability to read and interpret drawings.
+ Own tools necessary for carpentry work.
+ Willingness to travel (40% of the year).
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with tape measure, tools, finish, concrete, drywall, installation, rough carpentry, construction, trim work, cabinetry, measuring tools, flooring, and counters.
+ Training on OSHA, IICRC, DOT, Emergency Restoration Certification, Hi-Lo Training, and construction skills is available.

**Work Environment**
Work on commercial construction projects with a focus on both interiors and exteriors. The job involves travel, with approximately 40% of the year spent on the road. The properties worked on are remodels and vacant during the construction process.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Farmington Hills, Michigan.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $35.00/hr.
