Job Description
Your Team
As the Carpenter & Pre-Occupancy Technician (Multi-Family) is a front line quality control and detailing position responsible for auditing the compliance of homes for quality conformance, system function, and completion of any job specific details. The Pre-Occupancy Technician (Multi-family) is responsible for identifying, communicating, coordinating and executing the final detailing and any necessary repairs to cosmetic surfaces, fixtures and appliances with the goal of presenting a deficiency free home for the Customer Orientation and Turnover meetings. In the event that deficiencies are identified, this position is responsible for prompt correction of the identified deficiencies.
Your Key Deliverables
Review and audit units under construction on a daily basis.
Conduct comprehensive quality control inspections and document deficiencies on the correct checklist(s) to ensure the interior and exterior of the home is complete according to approved plans, specifications, building code and warranty programs.
Identify and report construction issues and trends affecting build quality.
Audit installed interior and exterior finish materials, building life systems, fixtures and appliances for fit, finish and function.
Communicate deficiencies to appropriate trade partners, follow up and hold trades accountable to rectify in a timely manner.
Maintain regular communication with Site Manager regarding status of homes.
Identify and resolve any technical or workmanship problems.
Complete job specific detailing and support other aspects of construction operations as required.
Contribute to maintaining a safe site at all times, including ensuring sub-contractors and trades keep site cleanliness and safe work practice expectations a priority.
Must Haves
3+ years of general residential construction experience or an active participant in an apprenticeship program or equivalent interior finishing trade experience.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Effective communication skills.
Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, and computer skills required.
Valid Driver’s License and vehicle required
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
