Job Description:

We are seeking Carpenters (Marine projects) in the Baltimore, MD and Norfolk, VA areas. Must be willing to travel between Philadelphia and Norfolk, and work 12-hour shifts with an extended work schedule.

SUMMARY: Construct, erect, and repair structures for heavy civil marine projects.  Form work experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Select specified type of lumber or other materialsPrepare layoutMeasure boards, timbers, or plywood, and marks cutting lines on materials;Shape materials to prescribed measurementsNail cleats (braces) across boards to construct concrete-supporting formsBrace forms in place with timbers, tie rods, and anchor bolts, for use in building concrete piers, footing, and walls;Assemble cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, dowel pins, or glueSet expansion damsAssemble or run overhang modules or stick built overhangsClimb wingwalls, retaining wallsAssemble wood deck formsConstruct forms and chutes for pouring concreteAssist in pouring of concreteErect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level

Education and/or Experience

Experience in formwork;Carpenter Training Program or equivalent experience for Carpenter Helpers

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Able to work while tied off to fall protectionAble to work or walk on uneven groundAble to walk, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlSkilled in use of necessary hand and power toolsAble to work with levelRead and understand blueprints, sketches, or bridge plans for information pertaining to type of material requiredRead tape measureLift/move up to 100 pounds

Expected base pay range for this positions is:   $26.00/hr - $34.00/hr

This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Kokosing at the time of the posting.  Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate.
