Carpentry Superintendent
**Job Title: Superintendent** **Job Description** We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to manage the day-to-day onsite operations of construction projects. The successful candidate will provide direction and supervision to the crew, perform various construction-related tasks, and ensure safe working conditions. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate work schedules and complete necessary paperwork efficiently. **Responsibilities** + Manage the day-to-day onsite operations of construction projects. + Provide direction and supervision to the crew. + Perform tasks such as demolition, concrete work, framework, and other construction-related activities. + Read and interpret plans and specifications. + Order materials, tools, and equipment. + Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with OSHA regulations. + Communicate with the Project Manager to organize and coordinate work schedules. + Utilize software and email to track job progress. + Complete and submit necessary paperwork to management. + Attend superintendent meetings and training sessions. + Establish and maintain positive relationships with team members. + Work with the owner and architect to conduct final inspections, oversee job clean-up, and ensure timely completion of required work items. **Essential Skills** + Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. + Strong knowledge of blueprints. + Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook. + Positive attitude. + Accountability. + Excellent communication skills. + Strong decision-making ability. + Detail-oriented. + Honesty and integrity. + Initiative. + Organizational skills. + Problem-solving ability. + Reliability. + Teamwork. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in carpentry and construction leadership roles such as Carpentry Superintendent or Field Lead. **Why Work Here?** Our office is located in Downtown Des Moines, and we specialize in commercial construction projects including schools, offices, retail, and other commercial buildings. We are building a self-perform, non-union crew in the Des Moines area. Join a team that values teamwork, integrity, and a positive work environment. **Work Environment** The Superintendent will work on various commercial construction sites such as schools, offices, and retail spaces. The typical work schedule is from 7:00 AM to 5:00/6:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with 10-hour workdays. Some Saturdays may be required to ensure project completion. The total work hours may reach up to 60 hours a week during busy periods. The dress code includes jeans, boots, and a t-shirt or sweatshirt. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Davenport, Iowa. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
