Carrier Compliance Manager

Position: Carrier Compliance Manager

Job Description:

The Carrier Compliance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of carrier partners. This individual is responsible for vetting and maintaining carrier qualifications, enforcing compliance standards, and serving as a key liaison between internal teams, carriers, and external regulatory bodies. As part of a dynamic freight brokerage team, the Carrier Compliance Manager will establish robust compliance protocols and support carrier onboarding.

Core Responsibilities & Duties:

Carrier Vetting & Qualification Perform thorough vetting of current and prospective carriers using platforms such as Highway, Carrier 411, and SAFER Communicate with Highway on errors, missing data, insurance issues, and carrier contracts to maintain accurate records Perform system overrides in Highway, Parade, and Power Broker to authorize carrier bookings when necessary Evaluate carrier insurance exclusions to ensure compliance with specific freight requirements (e.g., HVTL or customer-specific commodities) Carrier Onboarding & Support Send setup links to qualified and interested carriers, guiding them through the onboarding process Assist carriers with setup questions and ensure timely completion of all onboarding requirements Customer & Compliance Coordination Participate in Omni Station and Legacy customer calls to discuss compliance and security protocols Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for security protocols based on customer expectations and FA/Omni requirements Overhaul Device Management Serve as the primary contact for Overhaul Device management, collaborating with the Tracking Department leader to ensure devices are properly assigned to shipments and logged in compliance systems Emergency Response & Fraud Mitigation Act as the point person during emergency situations such as fraud or theft, coordinating resources and leveraging contacts like Tom Patterson or Pat Fenton for resolution Gather and analyze relevant information to respond swiftly and effectively to incidents Strategic Compliance Initiatives Drive innovation by evaluating and implementing new compliance strategies to enhance carrier onboarding, rule sets, and monitoring processes Stay informed of industry regulations and trends to ensure compliance processes remain current and effective. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in carrier sales within a freight brokerage environment Skills: Outstanding customer service skills with both internal stakeholders and external carriers Strong written and verbal communication abilities to facilitate clear, concise, and professional exchanges Exceptional multitasking capabilities with precision and attention to detail Confidence in making swift, informed decisions Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) Attributes: Highly organized and resourceful with a proactive problem-solving mindset Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities
