The Opportunity!

HUB International has an exciting new Carrier Relations Associate role based in our Chilliwack Head Office.  This is a fully in-office role.  If you have exceptional collaboration, organization, communication and analytical skills, enjoy working in a fast-paced corporate environment and want to make an impact, this may be the role for you!  Reporting to the Director of Carrier Relations, this is a great opportunity to support our Market Placement and Sales teams with effective commercial and personal insurance sales and market support. 

A day in the life –

This position is important to our organization, driving its vitality by supporting our internal and external relationships, growth and retention initiatives.  You will have direct exposure to working with our insurance carrier partners, Sales, Market Placement, and Leadership teams.  The individual for this role will bring a solution minded approach and apply problem solving capabilities without constant oversight.  Day-to-day responsibilities include:

Maintain effective communication with our key carriers and coordinate insurer visits and training as required

Regularly engage with HUB branches and Producers to exchange ideas with commercial team members, build relationships and encourage the use of the Marketing department

Actively participate in Marketing and Sales meetings

Attend and participate in carrier and company meetings and events as required, including occasional off-site

Assist with various Sales and Market Placement initiatives and projects

Data management including reporting, analytics and development of proposals

Produce internal and external communications

Be a “power user” for department SharePoint site including management, permissions and facilitating introduction training for new sales producers

Collect and maintain carrier contacts and materials, promote carrier initiatives and engage appropriate HUB contacts

Work with the Director of Carrier Relations on all aspects of carrier collaboration

Offer support to Sales on market appetite, in-house programs and products

Event organization both internally and externally with insurance carriers

General administrative support and other tasks as may be required

What you will bring to the team–

Minimum 2 years of commercial insurance experience and knowledge of commercial account placements  

Level 2 General Insurance License or working towards this

CAIB, CIP, CRM or working toward designation is an asset

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Initiate continuous professional improvement through training opportunities

Strong attention to detail, creative critical thinker and problem solver, ability to break down complex issues into simple solutions

Highly organized with an inherent sense of urgency and able to manage competing priorities

Teamwork makes the dream work. Maintaining and growing relationships with your team and client

Experienced in handling confidential material

Proficient in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel (pivot tables, V-Lookup, graphs, etc), Power Point, Outlook, Forms, SharePoint

Knowledge in Power BI an asset

Salary Expectations –
The expected salary range for this position is $45,000.00 to $65,000.00 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include extended health benefits, disability insurance, RRSP matching, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, and commissions for some positions.
