Exciting Opportunity: Bilingual Case Aide for Home Energy Assistance Program!

Are you passionate about making a tangible impact in your community? EAC Network, a renowned not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting 62,888 individuals through 100 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated Bilingual Case Aide to join our Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) and WRAP (Weatherization) team. This position is temporary until December 2024.

  Compensation: $20 per hour at 35 hours per week  Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:45 AM to 4:45 PM Location: Hempstead, NY  Report: Program Director

This full-time role offers a competitive hourly rate of $20 and a stable work schedule of Monday through Friday, from 8:45 AM to 4:45 PM, based in our Hempstead, NY office.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Client Interaction: Interview clients to determine their eligibility for energy assistance programs and guide them through the application process. Application Management: Process applications, complete necessary forms, and enter data accurately, following guidelines from the Nassau County Department of Social Services. Agency Collaboration: Work with other agencies and utility companies to ensure clients receive the support they need. Record Keeping: Maintain precise records and departmental paperwork, demonstrating your attention to detail. Tech Savvy: Utilize essential computer programs (e.g., Outlook, Microsoft Word) to perform your job effectively.

 

What We're Looking For:

Educational Background: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred. Experience: At least one year of experience working with low-income households. Skills: Excellent communication, interviewing, and organizational skills. Detail-oriented with proficiency in computer applications and automated systems such as spreadsheets and Microsoft Office.
