The remote Special Education Case Coordinator is responsible for working with the school’s special education teachers and compliance personnel to coordinate evaluations and ensure proper placement of students with special education related service providers.  The position also coordinates Individual Education Program (IEP) and Multi-Disciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) meetings.

This is a full-time REMOTE position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.

Chair all special education case conferenceCross Check student/guardian information from IEP document to internal enrollment informationFacilitate conference discussion and oversee conference agendaAuthorize commitment of resourcesEnsure appropriate procedures are followed during a conferenceSupports school personnel in development of student individual education plans during case conferencesComplete all move-in conference requirements for new enrollees with a current IEP from previous schoolAdministers and ensures compliance with corporation policies as well as state and federal special education regulationsMaintains a culture of collaborationEscalates issues to Director of Special EducationCompletes other assigned duties

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Education ANDMinimum of 5 years in the education field OREquivalent combination of education and experience

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.Knowledge of IDEA and Article 7Strong organizational, communication, and time management skillsAbility to work in high pace and collaborative environmentAbility to travel 20% of the timeAbility to clear required background check
