Case Management/Intake Assist

Job Summary: The Case Management Intake Assistant coordinates forms, packets, supplies management, and mail management. Helps develop and maintain systems to assist Manager and Case Managers. Facilitates project, data and report management. Enters and maintains data into computer as needed. Assists in record and project keeping for the Manager and the Department. If in a recovery program, at least two years of sobriety is required for staff and at least five years for Management. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree in related field preferred. Minimum of one year clerical experience required. Minimum one year healthcare, psychiatric or chemical dependency experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills: Ability to operate and troubleshoot basic office and patient care equipment required for the position; perform required patient care activities related to the position. Knowledge of medical terminology and hospital systems. Ability to speak clearly in person and over the phone; ability to write clearly and concisely; ability to listen well and interact appropriately with other employees and outside agencies; ability to input data into computer; ability to type 45+ wpm; good eye-hand coordination. Good organizational skills. Ability to establish effective relationships with supervisors, other employees, outside agencies and ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to concentrate on several assignments simultaneously; ability to edit, organize and prioritize; ability to work with limited supervision; ability to execute duties in an efficient manner with attention to detail; ability to receive and accurately carry out instructions. Able to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place/patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch.

Licensures and Certifications: Prevention and Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB) required within 30 days of hired. Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association required.
