Primary Responsibility:
As a Cash Application Associate, you will play a crucial role in the Accounts Receivable team by accurately and efficiently processing daily cash receipts and ensuring the proper application of funds in accordance with company policies and procedures. The primary responsibility involves utilizing the lockbox functionality within the ERP system to post cash transactions promptly. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Functions:
Cash Application Processing: Utilize the lockbox functionality in the current ERP system to process daily cash receipts, including checks, ACH, and wire transactions. Ensure timely and accurate application of cash, covering partially applied, on account, and unprocessed items. Issue Resolution: Analyze customer accounts to identify and resolve complex cash application issues. Collaborate with internal teams, such as Collections, BD and Treasury, to address payment discrepancies and ensure accurate payment posting. Account Reconciliation: Balance assigned lockboxes, ACH, and wire transactions daily. Assist in month-end close activities to reconcile and balance Accounts Receivable G/L accounts. Communication: Regularly communicate with external customers to facilitate accurate and timely payment of invoices. Provide collections with necessary documentation and detailed notes regarding any payment discrepancies. Special Projects: Assist the Accounts Receivable Manager with special projects as needed. Undertake other assignments as requested. Adherence to Compliance: Adhere to all Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements.Qualifications & Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus three years of related training or experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience with cash application within a lockbox system is advantageous.Knowledge & Employment Standards:
