Summary Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Responsibilities Daily cash run to collect the cash deposits from business operations to central vault. Count and verify cash, coins and checks against manifest and research any discrepancy. Prepare and record bank deposits. Perform cash counting and reconciliation in cash management system and prepare deposit records to submit to finance department for sales reconciliation. Prepare outbound change fund orders. Guard and maintain safety and security of the employee, vault, and all financial instruments. Prepares month-end schedules and schedules of aged accounts. Coordinates with other departments to reconcile discrepancies between paperwork submitted to accounting and other documentation. Reviews reports and reconciles with manual or PC maintained journals and supporting documentation. Incumbent performs the full range of technical accounting support in one or more of the following activities: Assists higher level fiscal office officials in researching and resolving accounting and other fiscal report discrepancies and problem issues. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications Three years of combined experience that demonstrates knowledge of general accepted accounting principles and practices, cash handling, and customer service; practical knowledge of accounting systems; knowledge of procedures necessary to verify, edit, reconcile, and record accounting data correctly in an accounting system. Experience utilizing Excel spreadsheet preferred. Strong attention to detail. The ability to develop practical knowledge of the Marine Corps. Must possess a valid driver¿s license. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs. independently, and objects over 45 lbs. with assistance, and be on their feet for extended periods of time.
