Responsible for the day-to-day management and development of the various teams within Cashiering. Ensure that the Cashiering Department adheres to all policies and procedures to reduce risk to the firm. Responsible for the overall level of service, accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism of the Cashiering Department. Primary contact for all escalated cashiering issues. Mitigate risk of loss, liability, damage, cost, or expense incurred by Fifth Third Securities (FTS). This position is deemed a high-risk function.

Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for all FTS cashiering related activities including money movements, daily firm settlement, account transfers, systematic trading plans, margin, incoming check processing & audit trail, physical securities received, ESOP, corporate actions, and reconciliation research.

Manages and monitors the workflow of the department, maintaining optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness to ensure all service level agreements (SLAs) with internal and external customers are met daily.

Resolves inquiries from internal and external customers regarding area activities and escalated matters.

Responsible for all Qualified Retirement Plan contributions and distributions in accordance with IRS and Department of Labor rules and regulations.

Manages processing of customer funds and securities positions to ensure accurate and timely deposit and distributions in accordance with FINRA Rule 15C3-3.

Analyzes and approves daily fee waiver requests, as well as maintaining justification documentation.

Ensures that all processes and records are kept in accordance with SEC, and FINRA rules and regulations.

Delegates resources to accommodate fluctuations in daily processing volumes.

Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the Brokerage business, staying well informed relative to the industry regulations and standards.

Partners with other managers within Brokerage Operations, as well as other business units to complete initiatives.

Responsible, in conjunction with the Financial Operations Principal, for Firm compliance of FINRA Rule 15C 3-3 (customer protection).

Responsible for monitoring and approving money and wire transfers in compliance with the Patriot Act including Firm AML policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential and provide challenging opportunities that enhance employee career growth; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience required.

3-5 years brokerage experience.

Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), FINRA Series 7, 63 licenses required.

FINRA Series 24 license preferred.

2 years prior management experience in brokerage or financial services preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Experience with Microsoft office products, such as Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Leadership skills, initiative, attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and decisive decision-making skills.

Ability to multi-task and be flexible in adjusting priorities.
