ChristianaCare is looking for a Casual Medical Assistant for our NEW Primary Care Float Team, Region Three.
Region Three includes, but not limited to:
Primary Care offers a range of medical services for children and adults through all stages of life. As a medical assistant you will be responsible for assisting providers in the examination and treatment of patients with virtual and on-site appointments. You will also be responsible to deliver quality patient care and to perform other clinical and clerical duties within the practice.
Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday anywhere from 7am to 7:30pmRotation on Saturday from 8am to 12pmDuties & Responsibilities:
Greets and supports patients virtually or on-site within the practice.Rooms patients for on-site visits and prepares patients for virtual visits to include taking and recording patient vitals.Performs point of care testing, injections, medication administration and EKGs as per practice needs.Assists clinician with examinations/procedures.Prepares exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment.Completes necessary patient-specific paperwork within scope.Handles patient call backs relaying information within scope and per the direction of provider.As per state guidelines, performs sterilization of medical equipment per practice needs.Schedules stat tests, procedures, and surgeries within scope to maintain continuation of care.Performs quality control on all POCT (point of care testing) equipment.Provides documentation assistance for providers during examinations and procedures.Troubleshoots patient issues with video visits.Supports patients as they join ChristianaCare’s Patient Portal.Performs other related duties as required.Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.Education Requirements:
High School Graduate or GED required.A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program and hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) or obtain within three months of hire.Two years’ experience as a Medical Assistant, is preferred.Strengths and Qualities:
