Responsibilities

We have an opportunity for a Casualty Claims Supervisor to join our Berkley One team!  You will service as a key contributor to the Berkley One brand. You will  supervise a team of internal claims adjusters, TPA partners and the Claim Concierge support staff team. This position is centered around providing technical direction of frequency claims, both auto and liability, as well as operational efficiency and quality control of claim support staff who also interact with our customers. 

 

This position will be based in our Wilmington, DE office

Key functions include but are not limited to:

Manage claims adjusters and claims service teams to meet or exceed performance metricsManage, coach, and administer employee performance, compensation, and goal setting processes for team membersLead the adjustment and management of auto and liability, ensuring superior customer service to Berkley One customers, agent partners, as well as internal and external business partnersConduct thorough investigations, assess damages, and oversee the entire claims process for the TPA network from end-to-end, including coverage reviews, reserving, negotiation, and settlementApply casualty claims expertise to make well-informed decisions and guide the resolution of claims effectivelyAnalyze and interpret insurance coverage, clearly communicating positions in accordance with Berkley One guidelines and under the direction of the AVP Casualty Claims ManagerSet and adjust reserves within authority limits, recommending reserve changes as neededTravel as necessary for business-related activitiesOther duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experienceMinimum of 3-5+ years' experience in casualty claims management including: auto, homeowner, and injury claimsMinimum of 3-5+ years’ experience handling high exposure and complex casualty claimsExperience with TPA management, review of contracts, and understanding of service level agreements applied in practice for quality assurancesExperience with high-net-worth policy coverages and servicesExcellent analytical, decision-making, interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skillsProfessional demeanor and the ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situationsBroad knowledge of CCC, ARMS, and Copart systems is preferredIncredible empathy and understanding of the needs of customers, both insureds and their agents alike     Exceptional oral and written communication skills, your communication style is flexible to the situation and you communicate clearly and with a purposeCalm under pressure, you have excellent organizational and negotiation skills, integrity, and great follow-through on tasks, you are comfortable challenging norms while working collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of the organizationYou have a strong sense of accountability, fun and adventureEye on innovative improvements
