Casualty Product Filing Manager

The Casualty Product Line Manager (Workers’ Compensation, General Liability and Commercial Auto) will be responsible for providing a wide range of support to the Product Development team which includes product development, circular/bulletin monitoring, and state filings for casualty commercial insurance products across AIG. This role involves reviewing and interpreting all ISO & NCCI circulars and performing rule and form filings, as needed. Key responsibilities include collaborating with various teams (systems (Duck Creek), actuarial, compliance, regulatory filings, and legal), drafting and communicating product development and filing updates, and managing system tests and regulatory updates. The ideal candidate will have minimum of five to ten years of experience in casualty product (WC, GL and Auto) development & filing roles, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of commercial casualty insurance regulatory compliance. The role requires managing multiple projects and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Knowledge of Commercial Auto and General Liability product management lifecycle and filings is a plus. The Casualty Product & Filing Manager will report directly to the Casualty Product Officer. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities This role is responsible for supporting the development and management of workers’ compensation, commercial general liability and commercial auto insurance products and filings. Key responsibilities include monitoring all NCCI and ISO circulars, initiating rule and form filings, and collaborating closely with the systems team to ensure all systems are current and compliant. Additionally, this role involves performing system tests, tracking regulatory updates, and working closely with the product management team on ad-hoc projects and other initiatives. Responsibilities + Coordinate development, implementation, and maintenance of all Casualty products including Workers’ Compensation (WC), Commercial General Liability (CGL) and Commercial Auto (CA). + Responsibilities include research to support product maintenance, LCM/rate reviews, new product development and ongoing maintenance associated with designated lines of business. + Review, interpret, and take actions based on NCCI/Independent State Rating Bureau workers’ compensation and all casualty lines Insurance Service Organization (ISO) circulars and bulletins. + Effectively communicates with business units regarding proposed and newly implemented regulatory changes. Ensures that established underwriting policies, guidelines, standards, and procedures are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. + Experience in preparing and reviewing workers’ compensation, general liability and commercial auto filings, including tracking/monitoring/responding to various filing objections/criticisms as part of the filing process. + Submit approved company rates/forms/endorsements for system programming. Ensure all systems are up-to-date and in compliance. + Conducting periodic system utility/file quality control reviews to ensure all forms/endorsements and rating elements are implemented. + Manages relationships with internal stakeholders and external regulators on regulatory, compliance, and reporting issues. + Partners with internal departments including underwriting, IT, legal, and claims on product activities, initiatives, and system requirements. + Researching, discussing, and troubleshooting issues/problems raised by systems audit. + Management of a product development library to keep track of all rates, rules, and forms. + Provide technical knowledge training and support to underwriters. + Participates actively in NCCI and state board/bureau committees, as assigned. Key Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five to ten years of experience in casualty product development, demonstrating proven expertise with NCCI and ISO circulars as well as experience in preparing and submitting WC, CGL and CA rule and form filings. They should have prior experience working with systems on implementing rate, form, and rule changes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities. This is an individual contributor role. The candidate should have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A strong understanding of regulatory compliance and the legal aspects of commercial lines insurance is crucial. Additionally, the candidate should exhibit a proactive and results-oriented approach, adaptability to changing priorities, high integrity and professional ethics, and strong leadership and interpersonal skills. What We Are Looking For + Approximately five to ten years of experience in Workers’ Compensation, General Liability and Commercial Auto insurance product management. + Proven experience with NCCI and ISO circulars and independent bureau manuals. + Experience in preparing and monitoring all WC, CGL and CA related rule and form filings. + Previous experience working with Duck Creek, Majesco or any other policy issuance system on implementing rate, form, and rule changes is a plus. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. + Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Ability to effectively communicate business and technical information to a diverse audience.
