Your Role

The primary purpose of this role is to assist in the development and accomplishment of goals established for profit, growth, service and producer relations for all classes of business within the Major Accounts Division.  This role extends to fostering relationships with major customers and producers by demonstrating Chubb’s commitment to deploy its global coverage and risk management capabilities to meet the specialized needs of major customers.

Underwriting Process / Analysis

Assist in the positioning and negotiations associated with delivering profitable transactions to achieve financial plans for all applicable product lines in the Major Accounts Division. Select new risks and underwrites renewals for assigned book of business and/or for designated speciality classes or market segments within Casualty portfolio. Consults with product managers on risks exceeding delegated authority. Consult with Segment Leader on retention and prospecting activity Collaborate with other team members on various lines of business to major customers, producers and MAD team Maintain a good level of understanding of pricing individual risk exposures Preparing, delivering and negotiating quotations

Production / Relationship Management

Manage producer and key account relationships for assigned territory through proactive communication, visitation and collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to retain and grow the business. Visit assigned producers to discuss risks, communicate Chubb’s business appetites, and produce new business Monitor and communicate performance of assigned accounts/producers by analysing quality, volume and mix of business by producer.   Plan and execute a regular and ongoing quality underwriting travel program to promote understanding of and support for underwriting and marketing goals.Travel includes the ongoing solicitation of new business and presentations to prospective producers with members of team. Responsible, appropriate and strategic management of resources and expenses associated with the above activities. Identify, analyse and develop sources of desirable new business opportunities including cross-departmental opportunities. Actively participate in business development activities through regular team meetings. Identify and shares information with MAD and broader Chubb personnel regarding competitors’ products and underwriting.

Service

Take on Client Executive responsibility for up to 2 clients, where applicable.  Manage service standards by timely response to producer requests, setting of expectations and timely submission of quotations. Adheres to established department service goals, anticipates and responds to needs of producers, identifies and reports deficiencies and suggests changes for improvements.
  Strong Casualty Underwriting experienceDemonstrable ability to proactively identify and implement intelligent solutions to unique underwriting situations.Appropriate levels of subject matter expertise in relation to: pricing techniques, alternative risk transfer and the development of reserves by individual case and by book of business.Understanding the underwriting appetites of the other lines of business and associated relationships.Judgement, experience and confidence to make appropriate recommendations for tailoring coverage and manuscripting policies.Familiarity with the products / services of key competitors.Demonstrable capacity and efficacy in utilising negotiation strategies to achieve constructive business outcomesDemonstrated ability to work well with people and influence decisions.Working knowledge of Microsoft systems including Excel Word and PowerPoint.
