CAT Scan Technologist (CT Tech) - Columbia
Duration: 13 Position Title: CAT Scan Tech Position Description: 36 hours, 7p-7:30am (Wed/Sat/Sun) JOB SUMMARY: The CT Scan Technologist, under the limited direction of the radiologist, general supervision of the administrative director, and the direct supervision of the CT Manager, performs professional duties involved in obtaining the proper computer tomography images. The job duties are to provide care activities in the presence of patient and can involve invasive biopsy procedures. Work occasionally requires internal contacts outside the work group to exchange work related information. Contact with external contacts involves providing or getting factual information. Requires normal courtesy and tact in dealing with others. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 1. Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program with advanced certification in CT. 2. One year of CT experience preferred. LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: 1. Current radiologic technologist licensure in the State of Maryland. 2. Current registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT). 3. Advanced CT certification is preferred. 4. Current CPR The CAT/CT Scan Technologist produces computerizedtomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as ordered by aphysician. These cross-sectional imagesprovide detailed information about soft tissues, blood vessels, and bones,which are essential for accurate diagnostics. The CAT/CT Scan Technologist obtains patient history, explains standardprocedures, and addresses patient concerns. The CAT/CT Technologist alsoperforms a variety of specialized tasks involved in the performance of CTscans. Minimum Requirements: + High School Diploma or equivalent + One (1) year of experience as a CAT/CT Technologistpreferred. + Appropriate valid state licensure in diagnostic imaging + A.R.R.T.
