Catalogue Strategist - Columbia

As the Columbia Catalogue Strategist, you will be responsible for originating and delivering the catalogue marketing strategy for a diverse range of Columbia’s artists, including development and established artists, with a focus on old frontline aged 6-42 months old. 

Your role will integrate seamlessly with the wider Columbia marketing team to explore every opportunity to increase artist profile, grow new audiences and deepen fan engagement in fresh and creative ways through digital and physical activations. These will include new music campaigns, tours, trending tracks, anniversaries and milestones, cultural moments and syncs. 

You will also benefit from the expertise and support of the Commercial Group Catalogue team to help ensure campaign success. 

This is an exciting new role with plenty of scope to define and shape the label’s strategy and approach to their artist’s catalogues. You will be passionate about artists and music, enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team and an innovative marketer committed to delivering excellence.  

What you'll do: You will be responsible for a core roster of Columbia artists, marketing their catalogue on and off-cycle ensuring that it is strategically and effectively weaved into campaigns, with a focus on old frontline or catalogue aged 6-42 months. You will also be responsible for continuous monitoring of wider Columbia roster catalogue activity and identify additional opportunities across the label’s roster.  You will lead, activate and communicate global catalogue marketing initiatives to drive streaming consumption, boost new release set up, maximise physical opportunities and increase fan engagement.  You will identify new opportunities to reach and grow audiences through tech, media partners, digital and advertising including a focus on CRM/First Party Data acquisition.  You will lead on internal and external stakeholder communication including artist management, providing regular reports and insights, highlighting opportunities and campaign performance.  You will establish sound campaign objectives and KPIs utilizing data and audience insight, monitor performance throughout the activation period and share post-campaign analysis.  You will be responsible for the origination, delivery and roll out of all catalogue marketing materials, including creative assets, promotional assets, supporting video content, ad assets and physical formats.  You will fully manage campaign budgets including P&L and forecasting, allocating and monitoring spend in collaboration with Columbia’s finance team.   Who you are: You will be artist-focused and a fan of Columbia’s diverse domestic and international roster  You will be up to date with contemporary music trends, aware of cultural context and comfortable working across a range of eras and genres. You will be informed and curious about technological advancements in the wider media landscape and be creative about how these could be applied to your campaigns. You will be immersed in social media and the various ways people use these platforms to increase their audience and reach, both within music and the wider culture. You will have strong awareness of the partnership landscape and how brands, distribution channels and media can be used to enhance your artists’ projects.
