Our hybrid work environment combines the best of both worlds with at least three (3) days in office and up to two (2) days virtual for employees who live within fifty (50) miles of a Farmers corporate office. Job Summary This position implements initiatives that advance catastrophe management objectives. The role coordinates projects of low to moderate complexity to enhance company capabilities for managing and mitigating catastrophe risk. The position serves as a primary contact for assigned projects while ensuring timely delivery and alignment with broader catastrophe management goals set by leadership. The position collaborates across the company to facilitate project outcomes. It assists in identifying trends in catastrophe exposure to inform future strategies. The position performs work independently while receiving moderate guidance from a supervisor. What You'll Do Executes low-to-moderately complex catastrophe management projects from planning to completion while ensuring timely delivery and achievement of objectives. Coordinates exposure management initiatives by aligning schedules, establishing project teams, facilitating meetings, and managing timelines. Contributes to more complex projects as assigned. Collaborates with process owners to manage implementation dependencies and ensure completion of necessary tasks for project execution. Facilitates tasks such as regulatory filings, updates to underwriting guidelines, stakeholder communications, and others while aligning implementation steps with catastrophe management objectives. Monitors processes to address issues and ensures timely task completion for smooth project execution and compliance. Works closely with IT to define state-specific system design requirements and ensure integration of catastrophe management metrics into operational processes. Reviews system testing and addresses issues with subject matter experts. Coordinates updates to system reference tables. Collects and documents state and countrywide catastrophe management requirements through research and consultation with internal and external resources. Collaborates with legal and compliance teams to ensure accuracy. Assists with analyzing deviation requests as needed and facilitates their review and approval. Monitors project performance against established goals and makes adjustments to ensure success. Prepares progress reports and communicates updates to leadership and stakeholders. Documents project decisions and organizes related business records for accuracy and accessibility. Stays informed of industry trends and best practices in catastrophe management. Recommends enhancements to future strategies based on this knowledge. Actively seeks opportunities for continuous learning to broaden understanding and capabilities in exposure and product management. Operates within established guidelines and policies to impact the quality of own work and team contributions. Performs other duties as assigned. What You'll Bring Minimum two years of experience required in catastrophe management, product management, underwriting, or similar role. Working understanding of exposure management principles preferred. Insurance industry experience preferred. Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Additional Qualification Strong verbal communication and listening skills. Demonstrated written communication skills. Excellent collaboration and team building skills. Demonstrated analytical skills. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills. Possesses strong technical aptitude. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Able to adapt quickly to new technologies. Physical Actions Job is performed in-person at a Farmers office or virtually at an approved alternative work location. The physical work environment is indoors and climate-controlled with adequate lighting and ventilation. Normal and customary distractions include background noise produced by office equipment and chatter among people, as well as interruptions. Frequently sits for prolonged periods of time, up to a full shift. Occasionally moves about the workplace including, navigating stairs, ramps, and level or uneven surfaces. Occasionally moves, pushes, pulls, lifts, carries, and/or places objects or materials weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. 1 of 2 Frequently uses shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers to manipulate equipment, tools, and objects necessary to perform job duties. Frequently performs fine motor tasks such as typing, mousing, or writing, up to a full shift. Rarely performs movements such as bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, twisting, and reaching overhead or below the knees. Possesses clear vision, with or without correction, to visually read and verify information. Relies on depth perception and peripheral vision to navigate the work environment visually by identifying barriers, changes in terrain and locating objects. Possesses adequate hearing, with or without correction, to communicate with co-workers, respond promptly to auditory signals or alarms, and discern sounds essential for maintaining safety and productivity in the workplace. Jobs in this category require rare, if any, travel.
