Job Overview:
The Category Analyst will work closely with the Category Director and Asst. Category Director, as well as the MP&A, Marketing, E-Commerce, and Retail Operations teams. They will obtain, analyze, and interpret robust data sets and present opportunities based on the data to drive decision-making. The Category Analyst will be focused on but not limited to the following:
Job Responsibilities:
Deliver analysis and recommendations related to category performance in the following areas: Sales, Gross Margin, Product Mix, Program Design, Promotions, and Execution Identify and present strategic opportunities based on daily business analysis Develop, maintain, and work with the MP&A team on appropriate scorecards for measuring category performance Continued improvement of existing reports and models to increase business efficiencies Assist the Category Director and Asst. Category Director in development of comprehensive marketing and merchandising strategies Establish and maintain relationships with vendors required to facilitate effective category management Provide analysis to the Category Director and Asst Category Director for the vendor negotiation process to achieve the best possible cost of goods and vendor-supported programs Provide analysis on item mix and impact on category sales and profit objectives Coordinate new item and product packaging development, monitor compliance with established product specification levels and monitor performance against forecasted goals Assist in development of assortment plans and merchandising Monitor defective/RTV programs and provide supportive detail as necessary Collaborate and advise the MP&A team to help them achieve their targeted inventory level and service level objectives, as well as identify underperforming inventory Assist Category Director and Asst. Category Director in the completion of administrative functions that may include but not limited to: Report development and preparation Schedule vendor meetings Preparation of vendor meeting report packets Vendor Agreements Screen new vendor calls Preparation of PresentationJob Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree Proficient in MS Office Suite
