Overview From Lagers to IPAs, stouts to sours, and everything in between, we are looking for a go-to beer expert that is ready to take a “hop” into Coborn’s Inc. Coborn’s is looking for an expert like you to be our Beer Category Growth Manager. As the Category Growth Manager, you will use your industry knowledge to lead the execution category strategy and drive category growth! Along with your expert knowledge of products you will oversee the sales and gross profit for the category and conduct high quality analyst to generate insight and actionable recommendations! Selecting ad items, category reviews, new item selection, and inventory manager will be at the forefront of this role as they will play a key role in maximizing your sales! Additional duties include: Collaborate with leadership to set category budgets, sales, and gross profit goals for category and by store. Partner with cross-functional teams to connect business opportunities and develop both strategic and tactical solutions for integrated lines of product and services. Establish and build strong professional partnership with vendors and suppliers, negotiate contracts and pricing, product selection including private brands, procure deals for promotions, manage supplier service performance, and resolve problems. Conduct regular category reviews with vendors/suppliers to recognize and benchmark strong item performance and/or develop action plans to remedy sub-standard item performance. Develop and execute strategic sales and merchandising programs to drive customer traffic and sales/profit margins and position our stores on the cutting edge and outpacing our competitors across assigned categories. Select items and set and maintain retail pricing for products, explore and source new products, programs and offerings to improve assigned categories. Responsible for writing the Liquor ad. This includes selecting the Beer/Liquor/Spirits included in the ad and partnering with the marketing team to create the promotional campaigns to drive customer traffic and sales/profit margins. Provide weekly reporting about key category analytics to the Vice President of Liquor Division. Analyze the data and provide recommendations on any changes needed to drive sales and profitability. Monitor market conditions and seasonal promotions that influence cost and supply in assigned category and use information to refine procurement strategies. Ensure proper levels of product procurement for promoted products. Drive category sales and gross profit margins by conducting robust analysis using category goals & objectives, research, category management principles, analytical tools and data visualization to identify and effectively communicate business opportunities or challenges. Stay current on market direction and drivers through a variety of means including direct interactions with guests, outside suppliers, partners and industry contacts. Conduct periodic store visits to monitor integrity of product merchandising. Understand the strengths and weaknesses of competitor’s products and strategies via competitive data gathering and capture. Create effective gap analysis summaries.
