We have an opportunity for you to join Samsung Australia to make a difference as our Head of Product in the Consumer Electronics - Home Appliances (HA) product management team. This is an opportunity for an experienced product/category lead to expand their exposure to manage a diverse portfolios within the consumer electronics industry while continuing to develop their people management skillset in coaching a small team of product managers.

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, the Head of Product HA manages the dedicated Product Management team and is responsible for category P&L management through correct product planning, pricing, demand forecasting, careful market modelling and sales expense planning.

The Head of Product will lead internal collaboration and external deployment of Product Strategy in partnership with channel sales leads. A critical part of the role will be external channel partner face-to-face engagement across Buyer and GM levels within the B2C market. The channel partner engagement will include, prevailing market analysis, reporting on trends and identifying opportunities, strategic range review collaboration, new model launch go to market, long term channel strategy buy-in.    

Establishing strategic category plans to achieve develop and execute marketing campagins to achieve stated objectives regarding revenue, profitability, market share and corporate objectives for product category

Coordinate the design and implementation of ranging strategy for the Australian market, and represent Samsung Australia in the global development division to ensure product roadmaps match local market requirements

Regular face-to-face engagement with key channel partners at Buyer & GM level - incorporating market trends and identifying range opportunities to drive profitable growth aligned to mutually beneficial joint business strategies

Manages price roadmap and sales deduction planning for category based on P&L status and target at the same time managing demand planning to optimal forecast for the Australian market and underpinned by strong analytical modelling and collaborative planning

Work closely with the National Sales and marketing manager to develop the vision and strategy for the category group and ensure effective communication through the product management team of the overall category vision, strategy, and tactics

Assist the sales team with face to face customer meetings linked to delivering against product strategy, market outlook and trends, activity roadmap and account target setting and forecasting

Communicate closely with headquarters Global Business Managers & Regional Headquarter to ensure effective support and align objectives and business targets

Skills and Qualifications

10+ years of experience in product management in the Consumer Electronics, Consumer Goods, FMCG or technology hardware industry

Experience in a team leader/people manager role within the Hardware product management portfolio

Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make recommendations that drive outcomes

Proven track record of using a growth mindset to meet and exceed targets

Advanced use of Excel and Power Point

Strong attention to detail

Ability to pivot with multiple competing priorities

Excellent communication and relationship building skills

A passion to achieve targets

A drive to improve operational processes
