The Category Manager-Capex & MRO, APAC will collaborate with APAC Procurement Ops and COE teams to assure supply of Capex & MRO (goods and service) for the APAC plants. The role will be responsible for service delivery to all Ingredion’s regional and global teams, such as operations, maintenance, engineering, supply chain and commercial for procurement related items. Assuring proper compliance with Ingredion’s policies and procedures.
Your responsibilities will include:
Develop and implement best-in-class regional strategies, coordinating global and local sourcing resources as needed and building stakeholder alignment for Capex and MRO categories across the APAC region.
Lead cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers that meet company's safety, quality, cost, and sustainability requirements, nominating preferred partners aligned with Global strategies.
Builds in-depth knowledge and expertise on the regional supplier bases & supplier markets and manages regional supplier portfolio.
Establish robust governance frameworks and communication channels to manage spend currently handled by non-procurement, ensuring transparency, accountability, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
Implement strategic sourcing methodologies and best practices to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) and maximize value for the organization, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and avoidance that are attributable to the P&L and able to be audited by a Finance stakeholder.
Drive supplier consolidation and standardization initiatives to streamline procurement processes, reduce complexity, and achieve economies of scale.
Lead the negotiation and development of key contracts through the effective partnering with supplier, Legal, and business stakeholder.
Manage designated key strategic supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, delivery, and service. Conduct timely reviews with suppliers to measure performance against contractual standards and performance expectations.
Monitor and analyze spend data, market trends, and supplier performance metrics to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation strategies.
Champion innovation and continuous improvement within the indirect procurement function, leveraging technology solutions, data analytics, and industry best practices to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
Maintain high stakeholder satisfaction for the Indirect categories.
Oversee change management activities ensuring scalability in growth environment.
You will be well suited for the role if you have:
Bachelor Degree
7-10 years of procurement and strategic sourcing experience with at least 5 years in Capex and MRO
Have strong procurement fundamentals, familiar with global & local markets and supplier base in each country. Experience in developing suppliers in China and India for other country, region or globally is a plus.
In depth understanding of purchasing tools and practices (E-auction, E-RFx, Power BI, etc.) including spend analytics and project and contract management
Experienced in the drafting and negotiating of contracts
Skillful in the strategic sourcing process, data and market analysis, RFP management, negotiations, contracting, and supplier lifecycle management
Have excellent analytical and financial acumen including cost modeling and budgeting/forecasting and proficient in Microsoft Excel
Can boldly assess the spend portfolio, constantly seeking opportunities for cost/demand reduction, innovation/substitution options, and applications of new technology
Have strong persuasion, influencing, and emotional intelligence capabilities.
Highly organized, possessing excellent decision-making skills in unsure environments.
Dedicated, with an entrepreneurial mindset and a demonstrated ability to drive and sell change
