Overview:
The Category Manager will be responsible for leading the non- alcohol (& More) categories by driving product sales through assortment productivity, price optimization, promotional planning, cost negotiations, and product placement for GoBrands Retail (BevMo, Liquor Barn and Gopuff Walk In Liquor Stores). We are looking for an individual with an extensive knowledge of the Food, Beverage, Glassware and Giftware industries that is an opportunistic and product-focused Merchant capable of partnering with cross-functional partners (i.e. Supply Chain, Marketing, Planning, Business Development, and Digital Merchandising) to build strong assortments that surpass financial objectives. You also will work closely with the Alcohol Category Managers on our Retail Business to build comprehensive plans across all retail stores. A strong analytical background is imperative to be able to analyze data and pricing to develop and execute strategy. It will be imperative that this person demonstrate the problem-solving and analytical skills necessary to thrive in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment.

This role, based on the West Coast (preferably in California), will have a hybrid work schedule, where you will be able to showcase your creativity and build strong relationships with teams in a cross functional manner.You Will:Establish a deep understanding of GoBrands Retail businesses, internal processes, and overall assortmentManage business to revenue and margin budgets that can be presented in Open To Buy (OTB) and cross-departmental meetingsLead the selection, pricing, positioning and marketing of products in the & More categoryDevelop merchandising & category plans and strategies to improve product sales, margin and other key business driving metricsMonitor performance across multiple classes and locations and use / analyze data to establish go-forward strategiesUtilize both internal and external data effectively to make smart and educated decisions to drive incremental salesAct as main point of contact for supplier partners and new business prospectsBuild and maintain assortment strategies contingent with unique territory requirements in mind as it pertains to volume, size, distribution, and local trendsPartner with Supply Chain, Pricing and Finance departments to develop and maximize revenue/financial targets within the respective product classificationsConduct comp shop and pricing analysis both nationally and locally to ensure key product lines are represented effectively in all markets and margin targets are metStay updated on category trends and competitive marketYou Have:Bachelor’s degree required (Merchandising, Business, or Economics is a plus)7+ Years of experience in Retail Buying, Merchandising and/or Category Management.7+ Years of experience in Food, Beverage, Glassware and/or Giftware Industry, experience in off-premise Alcohol Retail a plusFully proficient in Excel is a hard requirement for this role, proficient in SQL a plusMust have a significant knowledge of Supply Chain, Marketing and Financial PlanningCapable of taking initiative, ownership and accountability for the businessAbility to react quickly with a strong sense of urgencyManagement, training and development experience is requiredCompensationGopuff pays employees based on market pricing and pay may vary depending on your location. The salary range below reflects what we’d reasonably expect to pay candidates. A candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
