We are seeking a talented and motivated Category Manager, Indirect Procurement to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and executing assigned Category Strategies, Sourcing projects and all aspects of Supplier Management within Indirect Materials and Services in line with overall Regional, Site Sourcing and business strategy. Close collaboration with the Business Partner(s) to drive development of category strategy and sourcing projects required to support and/or improve competitive business advantage. Ensure the continuity of supply, constantly increase productivity and optimize external spend. Prepare for future sourcing challenges in collaboration with Business Partner on equivalent Management level. Responsible for collecting market intelligence and driving innovation from the external marketplace within the assigned sourcing responsibility to understand and improve our competitive position in the pharmaceutical industry. Lead and/or participate on cross functional project team(s) to achieve results in a changing internal and external environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Regular and predictable onsite attendance and punctuality. Leverage key organizational capabilities to implement and execute critical, long-term Category Strategies consistent with overall business goals and objectives to ensure external spend optimization. Take active part in cross-functional projects to realize savings potential, execute identified business opportunities and ensure consistency and alignment with established Category Strategies Run analysis to forecast usage patterns and to predict trends by using expertise to enlarge the Business's position within the external markets. Execute innovative sourcing strategies together with business partner(s)by using knowledge to combine Demand and Market analysis. Carry out the sourcing, negotiation and contracting activities, within assigned Categories, to achieve strategic and operational success for the Generics business. Build effective Customer Relationship Management with external/internal business partners on equivalent Management level to identify business requirements, opportunities and savings potential to drive optimized Regional and/or Site spend. Collaborate cross-functionally to analyze and leverage internal demand to align with external opportunities and mitigate risks within assigned responsibility. Execute best practices in order to drive innovation within the assigned categories. Manage risk through the identification, evaluation and classification of sourcing risks and devise mitigation measures in order to ensure continuity of supply. Maintain competitive advantage of the Generics business with an emphasis on monitoring industry, regulatory and business trends and maintain up-to-date market knowledge and intelligence for assigned categories. Perform best-in-class supplier management process within the assigned categories. Target the optimization of business relationship with Supplier Account Managers to gain Market Intelligence and implement agreed performance levels. Track and report agreed KPI’s and effective governance model with external sources on required levels to ensure strategic alignment. Work together with Business Partners on equivalent level in building mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers to continuously improve performance or resolve potential issues at an early stage. Drive internal communication and ensure knowledge sharing across all Procurement colleagues for operational effectiveness and consistency. Actively support the business model effectively and consistently. Fully support the efficient working environment and apply continuous improvement process. Work independently within a project, network across the Department and/or the Region. Lead project team(s) in a matrix (e.g. cross functional) to execute innovative processes and Category Strategies. Perform ongoing optimization of cross functional category teams. Awareness of local and global legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Bachelors’ Degree in Business-related field or Engineering 5 years sourcing experience preferred
Skills:
Prior technical sourcing experience preferred developing strategies taking into consideration spend and demand analysis, industry and market analysis and supplier analysis Customer Relationship Management Skilled in Supplier Management including supplier selection Opportunity to develop knowledge of assigned categories, technical aspects of sourcing, supplier management and contracting Risk Management experience Skilled in financial skills including analytical thinking, total cost of ownership, and NPV Skilled in contract negotiations at both regional and site level Skilled in Contract Management
