Summary:
Working under general supervision of the Director, the Pre-Owned Video Games Category Manager develops and executes tactics/strategies relative to trades and pre-owned sales for the categories assigned to him/her. The principal business outcome for this role is to maximize GameStop’s Pre-Owned business profitability and penetration in the assigned product categories. The Category Manager works within a business team to achieve these objectives and will independently execute daily tasks as well as be responsible for strategic thought and planning within the assigned product categories.
Location: Grapevine, TX Office (In-office, 5 days a week)
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute strategic plans to drive trades, profitable sales, and penetration toward varying business goals for assigned product categoriesManage trade and retail values, external purchase evaluations/ordering process, full life-cycle pricing/promotions, and inventory planning to support targeted financial outcomes and minimize unproductive inventoryPlans, executes and reports on promotions to drive managed categoriesProvide primary point of contact internally and externally, and create and grow positive working relationships with partnersDevelop compelling in-store, online, and other product presentations and promotions in conjunction with relevant cross-functional teamsMonitor performance to plan, forecasts and relative metrics through regular report generation and review, based on review develop and execute strategies to enhance business’ performanceForecast financial outcomes monthly, and develop strategies and processes to continually improve financial performanceCreate and grow positive cross-functional working relationship with peers and others within GameStopProvide financial recaps and status reports on a weekly basis as well as respond to ad hoc requests in a timely mannerRespond to store requests and inquiries in an accurate and timely mannerManage multi-pronged, business critical, projects as they come upUnderstanding of Financial Statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)40+ hour work week / 7 days a week on-call to support store needs and provide service for assigned product linesRelated Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, merchandising, or a related field is required. Additional education in retail merchandising, buying, marketing, and business analytics is preferred.5-7 years of retail buying experience preferred; closely related work experience may be used as a substitute.Knowledge of and passion for the video game industry.Minimum Qualifications:
