Job Description:
Mars currently has an exciting opportunity for a Category Manager to join our team in Auckland on a leave cover on a 12 month contract basis. The role promotes a diverse interaction with our key internal stakeholders across category, marketing, sales and externally with data providers and key customers. You will seek to influence through category based compelling selling stories and insights underpinned by strong executional plans to deliver on category strategies.
Within the category team the role acts as a key resource for day-to-day requirements; working with customers and working through executional projects to completion. as well as providing support to help train and engage with category analysts to help accelerate the achievement of the overall Category team.
What we are looking for?Experience in category analysis, strategy, insights
Knowledge of interpreting scan and shopper data
Prior experience working with multiple senior internal stakeholders
Ability to build and managing relationships with key accounts.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite, scan and shopper data (Nielsen / Circana/ Quantium, Dunnhumby).
Key ResponsibilitiesCategory lead for confectionery range reviews with key customers
Category lead for executional activities
Category lead for NPD project inputs
Lead category inputs for confectionary team meetings
Identify, measure and quantify marketplace trends and opportunities
Develop category plans and strategies to meet retailer and Mars NZ objectives
Support the category strategy manager as required
Provide direction to category analysts as required for planograms, reports and presentations.
