Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems sector is looking for a Category Manager 2 to lead the successful performance and operations of a Category Management team. The Category Manager and their team will be responsible for on-time delivery, acceptable quality and reasonable costs across the Category supply chain. This position will interface with other Space Systems sector organizations as well as provide engagement opportunities with enterprise staff, other sectors and executive-level leadership. This position can be located in Redondo Beach, CA; Chandler, AZ; Baltimore, MD; or Dulles, VA (any major Space location). Hybrid and/or full-time telework may be considered but is not preferred.
Primary responsibilities are the management of cost, schedule, and technical performance of the Category and include, but are not limited to:
Develop and execute Category Management strategies that drive superior supplier performance
Develop, implement and execute both strategic plans and tactical day-to-day responsibilities
Successful management of Category supply base across NG Space Sector – delivery, quality, cost
Ensure recovery plans are actionable, measurable, and providing accountability to all stakeholders
Lead meetings and drive open communication with both internal customers and external suppliers
Detailed understanding of Category suppliers’ capacity and capabilities
Manage team of supplier leads, ensuring the team is growing and developing in their roles
Ensure the category management team is working together efficiently and effectively to close out issues
Support special projects within Sector Category Management Team, as needed
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors' Degree
US Citizenship and ability to obtain government security clearance
Minimum of 8 years demonstrated success/problem solving skills in supply chain, operations, logistics, engineering or program management; 6 years with a Master’s. In lieu of degree, 12 years of experience may be considered
Demonstrated working knowledge of root cause and corrective action process, technical problem solving, and/or project management
Demonstrated leadership success and ability to influence and interact with peers and all levels of management in the organization
Direct experience interfacing with executive leadership and presenting at the executive level
Understanding of general procurement and subcontract execution workflows
Understanding of general manufacturing and purchasing workflows
Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, CostPoint and/or SAP
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience with developing complex agreements such as long term agreements, teaming agreements, strategic alliances, MOA's, overriding Terms and Conditions
Previous experience leading people or teams
Experience with sourcing activities, including source selection, capacity and capability analysis and alternate sourcing
Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $193,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
