Category Manager
Position Overview The Category Manager is an integral part of the procurement team. The initial goal will be to gain a solid knowledge of the team’s supply base, company, and procurement processes, and understanding of the roles and personnel of associated work groups inside International. As Procurement Consultant you will be a member of a Category Management Team (CMT), which provides the opportunity to work cross functionally within International interfacing with the product development, program management, quality, manufacturing, risk management, finance, logistics, aftermarket parts, product pricing, supply chain and more. As Procurement Consultant for Aftermarket (Cabin body components, Lighting, Mirrors, Cab-in-white, and Body Accessories), you will be responsible for managing an estimated spend of ~$200M. Demonstrating solid performance in this role will position you well for advancement into jobs of higher responsibility within International Procurement. Responsibilities Influencing internal and external stakeholders in the development and execution of strategy Cross functional collaboration Management of Cost Reduction projects Leading strategic sourcing activities for new programs and transfer business Supplier contract negotiations and administration Supplier performance management Working closely with the Best Cost Country Sourcing Team on projects and developing strategies for tail spend suppliers to effectively consolidate the supply base. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree At least 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience OR Master’s degree At least 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience OR At least 7 years of purchasing/procurement experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
