Category Manager/Junior Category Manager

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Demand ManagementCreate transparency, analyses and understand the area of Contract Manufacturing which encompasses all such goods as Based Products, Meat & Fish, Seafood, Fruit & Vegetables, Diary, Bakery, etc.Leverage knowledge of organization and suppliers to deploy specification and demand levers and generate innovations from the supply marketDevelopment and improvement of required goods and service portfolio, e.g., standardization, simplification, re-specificationStrategic SourcingContinuously monitor and extend understanding of assigned category, incl. spends, suppliers, products, market structure, price trends vs. paid prices, commodity forecasts, competitive dynamics, trends, demand management levers and risksTranslate savings targets into sourcing plan and develop short- and long-term supply strategies to achieve targetsExecute sourcing strategies using strategic sourcing process (build and analyses RFPs, bid evaluation and other analytical models; lead negotiations in line with strategic objectives; ensuring implementation of results)Prepare and negotiate contracts and contract updates with key suppliers based on defined pricing and quality targets and ensure required confirmation and documentationDevise & steer corrective actions in case of deviations to total cost of the overall Commodities supply strategyDevelop procedures to reduce supplier and procurement risk including supplier audits and credit checksOptimize order management and processes to handle Commodities, e. g. via e-procurement solutionResponsibility for relevant spend and content data for own categoryImplement supplier framework agreement with strategic suppliers with support from Legal, manage contract durations and contract data baseParticipate, contribute and/or steer in group wide or regional projects

Supplier Relationship ManagementSegment supply base and develop supplier portfolio to enable competitive, quality & timely response to the customer marketDevelop and manage key suppliers in line with SRM methodology; integrate supplier expertise as appropriate to deliver GATEGROUP’s strategy with focus on cost, product & process improvement; steer the contracting of related product portfolio processesMonitor and enhance ongoing performance of suppliers; identify and mitigate risks relating to suppliersConduct supplier audits working closely with Quality team during supplier evaluation processGuide & implement the transition of new supplier introductions managing all stakeholders to ensure successful launchTeam management / leadershipSupport implementation of processes, procedures, principles, guidelines, and systems to comply with corporate and regional standards and objectives and to increase performance and quality of procurementSecure and foster internal communicationEnsure and coordinate activities to support success of management of category working cross functionally with stakeholders and suppliersPlan, track, report project progress e. g. deadlines, savings (by Degrees of Implementation) and organizational buy-in (Strategic Sourcing Process)
