This role can be based in either Abbott Park, IL or Willis Tower, Chicago, IL. As Category Manager - Marketing Procurement, you will be responsible for managing global categories within Marketing and business management. You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders, regions, divisions, and fellow Category Managers. Your mission is to elevate marketing efforts while driving value, quality, and innovation, all while adhering to the highest standards of business ethics and integrity. In this role, you will develop and execute category strategies and workstreams in Marketing. You will proactively seek and lead innovative ways to enhance marketing procurement processes and customer service levels. Opportunities for development and increased responsibility across categories will be available. **What You’ll Work On** + **Global Category Management:** Oversee categories within Marketing Procurement, managing over $150MM in Marketing/Advertising spend. + **Strategic Insight:** Understand business requirements and challenges, transforming them into actionable category strategies. + **Value Creation:** Identify and present value improvement opportunities to marketing leadership, aligning with regional teams for implementation. + **Cost Management:** Own and measure cost improvement targets and projects, reporting to key business stakeholders. + **Supplier Performance:** Enable supplier performance evaluation processes, defining and monitoring KPIs. + **Market Analysis:** Conduct industry, regional, and divisional analysis to inform category strategies. + **Benchmarking:** Develop global benchmarks and stay updated on industry dynamics through various channels. + **Agency Management:** Guide stakeholders on structuring and implementing agency reviews or RFQs/RFIs/RFPs, leading complex reviews and negotiations. + **Contract Management:** Work with legal and business functions to execute Master Service Agreements and Statements of Work. + **Process Improvement:** Recommend and implement process improvements for efficiency. + **Issue Resolution:** Communicate issues to leadership and drive for resolution. + **Technology Utilization:** Effectively use technology and tools to enhance procurement processes. **Relationship Management:** + **Partnership Building:** Develop and maintain strong relationships with key agency partners and suppliers. + **Customer Satisfaction:** Meet regularly with regional and divisional stakeholders to ensure superior customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. + **Strategic Initiatives:** Build trust with core agencies and suppliers to propose new strategic initiatives. **Strategic Thinking:** + **Expert Guidance:** Provide advice and direction in primary areas of expertise. **Required Qualifications** + **Educational Background:** Bachelor’s Degree required. + **Experience:** 5-8+ years of experience in marketing procurement or a related field. + **Skills:** Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. + **Leadership:** Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives. + **Innovation:** Ability to think creatively and implement innovative solutions. The base pay for this position is $97,300.00 – $194,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
