Category Manager - Pharmacy Services

Our hospitals, care sites and clinicians are recognized for clinical and operational excellence. **Summary** The Category Manager for Pharmacy Services is an integral facilitator of workflow and administrative activities within the pharmacy supply chain sourcing team. Coordinates movement of pharmaceutical contracting projects through the process and facilitates progress. Maintains and analyzes information vital to the proper classification, evaluation, and quality of successful contracts focusing on brand, generic, and/or specialty medications. Develops and expands the business relationship with pharmaceutical suppliers. Promotes successful contract performance by preventing and resolving problems. Participates in the pharmacy supply chain sourcing team's strategic planning, preparation, and reporting. Provides instruction, support, and feedback to internal and external customers. Promotes quality improvement, process optimization, and data-driven decisions. Responsible for managing programs as assigned. **Essential Job Functions** + System wide supply chain manager for select pharmaceutical categories including brand name products, generics, or specialty medications. + Maintain and update contract change data. Inform stakeholders of changes and respond to questions/concerns. + Provide business analytics and decision support for key sourcing activities and provide ongoing spend / value reporting. + Reconciles post-award execution such as price challenges, quality concerns, Accounts Payable issues, rebate payments from vendors, general questions from customers and vendors + Be a relevant thought leader and active contributor to the business by maintaining a strong knowledge of the category, supplier capabilities, market trends, and technological advances in all pharmaceutical aspects including manufacturing, wholesaler, and GPO structures. + Develops and grows the business relationship with pharmaceutical suppliers. Employees may be required to perform other job related duties as required by their supervisor, subject to reasonable accommodation. **Employment Qualifications** **Education Qualifications** - Required Minimum Education:: 4 year/Bachelors Degree Specialty/Major: Business, Supply Chain, Pharmacy, Science Preferred Education: Graduate Degree (Masters) Specialty/Major: MBA **Minimum Qualifications** Minimum Years and Type of Experience: Minimum 5 years' pharmacy or healthcare experience in a multi-hospital health system, pharmaceutical supplier, drug wholesaler, GPO, or healthcare field. Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Ability to work well with and guide others, direct change, maintain positive attitude and strength in leadership. Self starter / works at high level of delegation. Outstanding supply chain management and analytic skills (ERP systems, sourcing tools, Excel, Access, Powerpoint). Outstanding communication skills and technical competence. Excellent Supply chain systems and financial reporting acumen. Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Additional training, clinical or business is preferred. Contracting experience preferred.
