Catering Assistant
JOB OBJECTIVE: As a Catering Assistant, you are a vital part of our culinary operations. You transport, set up, and break down a variety of meal services from our 3 production kitchens to various locations on our campus. You provide a positive customer experience by being awesome at getting along with people in a fun and fast-paced environment. You help with some basic prep work utilizing seasonally and locally available items, many of which are grown in our onsite garden. You bring your diverse viewpoint to the team so we can respectfully celebrate different cultures and cuisines and offer a variety of options for staff and guests. You share your skills with other kitchen staff, and you enjoy learning from your teammates, as well. CORE DUTIES: 1. Work with department head to coordinate the delivery, set up, and break down of a variety of catering services in multiple locations on campus. 2. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and inventory of all catering equipment. 3. Communicate with department head about customer feedback, equipment needs, and other relevant information. 4. Use time management skills to ensure prompt deliveries and break downs. 5. Maintain constant quality control while handling and serving food according to Promega Culinary standards. Comply with all local health department regulations. 6. Provide coverage and work other positions within the cafes as needed. 7. Work evenings to service corporate events as needed. 8. Understands and complies with ethical, legal and regulatory requirements applicable to our business. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High School diploma or proven work experience that ensures you are ready to be successful in this role. 2. Exemplary decision-making, problem-solving, and customer service skills. 3. Strong reading and comprehension skills. 4. Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with guests and team members effectively. 5. Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task. 6. Minimum 3 years restaurant front of house and/or catering experience. 7. Valid driver’s license, be willing and able to drive company vehicles for deliveries. 8. Maintains appearance according to Promega and professional standards. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Able to load food and equipment into and out of vehicles and push carts. 2.
