Catering Associate - Part Time

Description:Under limited supervision, is responsible for utilizing the principles of nutrition, preparing patient trays for all diets, delivery and pickup of trays, special requests and needs, in-between meal food delivery and dish/pot washing. Communicates with co-workers and coordinator.

Employment Type: Part Time, 10 hours per week

What you will Do:

Communicates any patient related problems/concerns to appropriate personnel, in a timely manner following departmental procedures.

Utilizes nutrition principles to prepare and assemble appropriate patient trays according to patient's menu on tray ticket in a timely and accurate manner.  Complies with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences are meant within guidelines of diet order limitations.

Interacts with Nursing to ensure patients' diet prescriptions are accurate, and patients' food needs are met.

Exhibits a "wow experience" with patients when introducing the Catering to You program, taking menu selections, delivering trays, inquiring during catering rounds and retrieving trays.

Exhibits pleasant and cheerful demeanor and maintains a helpful attitude towards employees, physicians, patients and visitors.

Completes catering rounds after passing trays to inquire if patient needs anything else.

Is responsible for a variety of cleaning tasks including dishwashing, pot washing, general sanitation and cleaning and use of kitchen equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of high school or GED is preferred but not required.          

Prior experience working in the field of institutional food service/health care food service preferred, but not required.

Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with adults.

Ability to work as a team member and to work independently. 

Must possess high integrity and maintain confidentiality at all times.
