Job Summary Lead a team as a Catering Manager and deliver world-class catering services with flawless event execution at the Sandy Spring Friends School in Sandy Spring, MD. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Supervises all catering events, ensuring they are completed and detailed. + Directly involved in catering operations, including logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and facility management. + Works with the Chef to build outstanding menus tailored to client needs. + Provides training for catering associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service to maintain a proven standard of excellence. + Monitors and tracks labor and food costs to ensure financial success. + Communicates effectively at all levels, including management, clients, customers, and associates, to maintain excellent relationships. + Assists with all foodservice-related activities to ensure comprehensive service delivery. + Performs other duties as assigned to support the catering department's success. Qualifications: + At least 3 years of food service experience, with a minimum of 2 years at the management level. + Prior experience in an education setting or related food service operations, including hotels, corporate dining, healthcare, or the military, is highly preferred. + Catering management experience is required. + Knowledge of food and catering trends, particularly quality, production, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation. + Strong financial, budgetary, and accounting skills. + Proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet usage. + ServSafe Certification is mandatory.
