Job DescriptionThe Catering Sales Manager will be able to develop and execute a strategic plan with emphasis on catering event revenue production for corporate and social events. A significant factor for success will rely on strategic solicitation of new profitable business. The Catering Sales Manager will merchandise as skillfully as possible the event space to maximize revenue potential for the hotel and to ensure that the customer has the best possible meeting/event experience. The catering sales manager will achieve monthly catering goals, develop, and implement sales action plans, maintain positive interdepartmental communications and to complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Catering & Convention Services.
Responsibilities Achieve monthly catering booking goals as established by the DOCCS.Follow established property booking guidelines for quoting rates for minimum food & beverage and meeting space.Solicit accounts within assigned parameters utilizing Delphi, Knowland Insight Data, and local resources.Respond to all incoming catering leads on designated inquiry days in a timely fashion and in accordance with established hotel SOP.Complete detailed site alerts and execute creative site inspections for prospective events.Prospect and develop new accounts in line with the hotel's stated Mission Statement.Maintain aggressive weekly telephone, site inspection and personal call goals and outside sales as documented in Delphi FDC.Evaluate and qualify all opportunities and present as needed during daily business approval meeting prior to quoting availability.Execute successful tastings as needed for high profile events and complete banquet event orders in a timely fashion for weekly resume review meeting.Use all prospect sources as identified in the Sales Action Plan.Follow up promptly on leads generated by other Omni Hotels & Resorts, Cvent, CVB and other lead sources.Active involvement with local partner organization to establish local company contacts.Successfully complete all required training as assigned by DOCCS and/or DOSM.Participates in development of local hotel promotions related to the Corporate and social market segment needs as well pull through on OHRS brand catering offers.Engage prospective planners through entertainment opportunities both on property and at industry events.Maintain positive attitude and welcome change.Ability to step outside sales/catering department when needed to assist other departments.Other duties as assigned by Director of Catering & Convention Services. Qualifications Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to communicate effectively to perspective and existing clientsAbility to develop relationships quickly via in person or across digital channels.Ability to control the sales process from start to finish and demonstrate a high propensity to close the business or gain commitment from the plannerMinimal 1 year of sales experience in a sales management roleKnowledge of Delphi FDC preferredComfortable with Microsoft Suite products and virtual presentations.Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance. Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
