Cath Lab Nurse RN

Position Purpose:

At Mercy Medical Center, the Cath Lab RN provides care to patients undergoing elective and emergent invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures. This role performs a variety of tasks to ensure patient safety and comfort, including patient assessment and hemodynamic monitoring, pre-procedure preparation, and administration of conscious sedation.

What you will do:

Support the cardiologist by handling instruments, monitoring patient vitals, and administering medications during cardiac procedures.

Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, obtaining consent, and providing post-procedure care instructions.

Continuously monitor patient conditions and maintain accurate records of the procedures and patient care.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Completion of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate’s degree in Nursing is mandatory. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.

Registered Nurse RN Licensure: Must hold a valid and current Connecticut registered nurse licensure.

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in Cardiac Cath Lab nursing is required. Consideration will be strongly considered, provided expertise includes two or more years in the ICU or Emergency Room nursing experience.

BLS or CPR Certification: Current certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.

ACLS is required within six months of hire.

Position Highlights and Benefits:

Full-Time – 40 hours per week - Day Shift.

Four 10-hour variant shifts with rotating weekends and holidays are required.

On-call required.
