Position Overview

 

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team for a fulltime, day shift position, plus call. The Cardiovascular Technologist (Cath Lab Tech) specializes in the utilization of invasive cardio vascular procedures under the direct supervision of cardiologists and radiologists. The Cath Lab Tech will function as part of the patient care team providing competent and compassionate care to a specialized group of cardiac patients. This healthcare provider will function as either a scrub tech or monitor tech in the cath lab with a focus on superior customer service.

 

Responsibilities

 

Assists physician in a variety of diagnostic and interventional proceduresScrub cases assisting cardiologists and radiologistsCirculate & pre/post care in Cath Lab holding areaResponsible for assisting with patient care during procedure and in post procedure areaPerforms operation of equipment used during procedurePerforms digital archival technique and image duplicationPerforms inventory maintenance and supply ordering as directedResponsible for regulatory and compliance standardsPerforms accurate documentation and maintenance of procedural recordsExhibits effective communication with patients, physicians, co-workers and other customersDemonstrates the ability to provide age specific care for the following patient populations: Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric

 

Qualifications

 

Associate’s Degree in Radiology, or related cardiovascular technology degree programCurrent Texas Department of State Health Services Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) License required within 90 days of hire (American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or Cardiovscular Credentialing International (CCI) certification may be accepted in lieu of MRT license)American Heart Association (AHA) approved courses in Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hireMinimum of two (2) years of procedural experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory requiredMust be proficient in performing all invasive cardiac catheterization proceduresAbility to be on-call as required
