Job Title: Catia Designer
Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Catia Designer with extensive experience in Catia V5. The ideal candidate will be proficient in all facets of 3D modeling and possess a strong understanding of GD&T practices, as well as experience in aerospace design and drafting.

ResponsibilitiesCreate complex and simple detail, sub-assembly, and top assembly drawings using Catia V5.Write engineering orders and make changes to existing drawings.Create assemblies and drawings for test procedures.Design components using ACS (aircraft coordinate systems) or local coordinates.Utilize Catia FTA workbench and MBD (Model Based Definition) for aerospace engineering documentation.Perform weight calculations by hand or using Catia V5.Conduct design checks of models and drawings created by other drafters.Apply strong understanding of GD&T practices per industry and ANSI standards.Demonstrate manufacturing knowledge in the machining of metallic components and sheet metal forming.Create tooling models and drawings.Assist the shop, customers, and vendors in reading and interpreting company and customer drawings.Develop assembly BOMs (Bill of Materials).Perform tolerance stack-ups and interference checks.Essential SkillsProficiency in Catia V5 with a minimum of 10,000 hours of direct experience.Experience in creating sketch-based solids and geometric surfacing.Knowledge in ACS and local coordinates for component design.Understanding of Catia FTA workbench and MBD applications.Strong understanding of GD&T practices per industry and ANSI standards.Three years minimum aerospace design and drafting experience.Ability to perform weight calculations and design checks.Ability to analyze complex data and provide logical solutions to drafting problems.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school or vocational school graduate with courses in Mechanical Drafting, Algebra, and Trigonometry.Catia V5 courses strongly desired.Experience with PLM software (Enovia) and configuration management practices preferred.Manufacturing knowledge is a plus.Must understand engineering drawings and have a working knowledge of shop operations and processes.Work Environment

This position requires working 40 hours a week with flexible start times of 7-3:30 pm or 8-4:30 pm. The work environment involves using advanced design software and collaborating with shop personnel, customers, and vendors to facilitate project completion.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $60.00
