CBS News Intern, WWJ Detroit (Summer 2025)

 

 

CBS Detroit WWJ-TV/WKBD-TV in the #14 television market Detroit, is part of 28 owned television stations in 17 major markets, producing content for broadcast, streaming, and web 24/7, and successfully launched our local "On your block around the clock" Newscast a little over a one year ago. Every area of our CBS News Detroit Stations including Sales/Advertising, Creative Services and Graphics, Technical Operations and Business Office are committed to working together to provide the highest quality product in the market.

 

Responsibilities:

We are looking for students who are looking to learn more about working in the broadcast industry while gaining valuable hands-on experience in News, Sales, Tech Operations, and/or Creative Services departments.

Assist News Assignment Editors/Producers/Technical Directors/Reporters/Anchors to provide content to our viewers both on-air and streaming Assist studio guests during live newscasts Attend editorial meetings and receive hands-on experience with our producing and reporting team gathering content. Interns will also have the opportunity to work in other areas of the station as well, including Sales, Creative Services, and Technical Operations in order to gain insight into how each of these areas contribute to the overall success of our product.

 

Eligibility:  

Internships are available to students who will be Juniors or Seniors in the fall of 2025. If you are a graduating Senior, please check our website for full-time job opportunities.  You must be available to intern full-time (5 days a week/36-40 hours a week) for 10 weeks total starting in June. Interns will be required to work fully on-site for the duration of the program. Internships are paid at a competitive standard hourly rate (school credit is optional).   Employment eligibility to work with Paramount in the United States is required as the company does not engage in sponsorship for internships.
