We are seeking an experienced **Veterinary Assistant** to join our talented team who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and top quality medicine. **Location: 18300 Euclid St., Fountain Valley, CA 92708** As a Critical care veterinary assistant, you will be responsible for continuous patient care and for providing medical care to hospitalized patients. + Obtain vital parameters on critically ill or injured patients, perform patient rounds + Assist with venipuncture, catheterization, IV placement, blood pressure, nasal oxygen administration, naso-gastric/naso-esophogeal feeding tubes, ultrasound guided cystocentesis, and bladder expression. + Set up and maintain multiparameter monitors, Doppler, ECG, pulse oximetry, and other equipment + Calculate and administer medications, including fluid bolus & CRIs, and transfusions + Provide basic and advanced life support, including CPR + Educate clients about pet health needs and communicate with them and the doctor + Take X-rays, perform in house lab work and fill prescriptions **Schedule:** Full-Time opportunity, 4 x 10-hour shifts, with one weekend off.
