Job Purpose: Direct supervision of drivers under area of responsibility.

 

KEY DUTIES Daily interaction with the driver workforce. Reviews manpower needs and ensures proper coverage. Responsible for planning of driver vacations, future books offs and run change assignment. Makes sure drivers are properly credentialed to operate a commercial motor vehicle. Ensures drivers are reporting to work on time and in complete uniform ready to work. Review and collection of DOT logs as well as driver ticket envelopes. Works with OSC to ensure operational execution. Monitors on time performance on a real time basis. Reporting on deviations from standard. Other projects or tasks as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent (required).  Bachelor’s degree (preferred). Operations management (1-3 years).  Safety and Workers Compensation (desired) Labor relations & CBAs (desired). Training. Interpersonal (required). Counseling of employees. Hiring – Interviews and makes recommendations on driver candidates.
