CDL Lab Technician
Job Title: CDL Lab TechnicianJob Description Responsible for assisting SBP in meeting all of the site’s goals including safety, environmental, quality, volume, cost, GMP, training, and personnel. Always follow cGMP and GLP guidelines, prepare for and assist with CDL standardization and safety inspections, and maintain chemical and material inventories. Responsibilities + Assist with CDL standardization and safety inspections. + Assist with lab-ware tasks when the lab-ware technician is unavailable. + Maintain chemical and material inventories to meet daily media make-up and 12L flasks inoculation. + Maintain CDL ISO procedures and respond to any CDL related non-conformities. + Participate in routine area inspections and safety walk-throughs. + Identify and implement new processes and procedures. + Coordinate maintenance of CDL equipment and computer systems. + Assist in training and enforce adherence to CDL/SBP standard operating procedures. + Implement and support the environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) management system. + Work in a 24/7 environment with different shifts and be available for overtime, weekend, and holiday coverage. Essential Skills + Chemistry + GLP + Quality control + Laboratory skills + Biology + Basic lab skills + GMP Additional Skills & Qualifications + Science college courses desired, preferably in Microbiology and Chemistry. + Basic math and English language reading skills appropriate to the scope of the position. + Intermediate computer skills including e-mail, Word, and Excel. + Knowledge of operating procedures for Bright field Microscope, pH meters, Centrifuges, YSI machine (sugar analyzers), scales, and refractometer. + Ability to perform gram stains and identify contaminants (e.g., gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria). + Skills in contamination prevention, frozen culture preparation and validation, CDL autoclaves operation, and aseptic techniques. Work Environment This position is located in San Diego, CA, within the Quality Control Department of a CDL lab. The job involves working in a 24/7 area on a rotating schedule. The training period is from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm, with Sunday and Monday off. Post-training, the relief shift schedule is as follows: Monday 9:30 pm - 6:00 am, Tuesday 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm, Wednesday 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm, Thursday 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm, Friday and Saturday off, and Sunday 9:30 pm - 6:00 am. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
