Responsibilities include:Teaches students by planning and delivering units of study consistent with the Léman mission and IB philosophy, emphasizing inquiry, creativity, and critical thinking.Creates differentiated classroom experiences by providing individual and small group instruction to achieve scaffolded support for all learners.Develops and delivers lesson plans that use a variety of techniques, group discussions, projects, exhibits, field trips, audiovisual and library resources, and technology.Creates and supports a positive, safe, and nurturing classroom community utilizing Responsive Classroom.Consistently monitors and reports student achievement through formal and informal assessment both summative and formative.Assists students in analyzing and improving habits and attitudes of learning.Counsels students with academic challenges and draws on the school resources for additional academic support.Identifies and addresses potential behavioral concerns by notifying and/or consulting with appropriate professionals.Keeps parents informed of all elements of student development including academic performance, attendance, and social-emotional learning through formal and informal communication methods such as parent-teacher conferences, both regularly scheduled and as-needed.Presents a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school and demonstrates behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.Collaborates with school staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to school requirements.Provides student support services by assisting with transitions, recess and lunch duty.Attends and participates in staff development programs, faculty events and meetings, and serves on staff committees as required (i.e. teacher in-service days).Attends faculty meetings, participates in educational opportunities, reads professional publications, and participates in professional organizations.Demonstrates flexibility and a positive attitude toward new challenges and growth opportunities.Creates and designs afterschool programs and classesEducation: Master’s Degree in EducationAt least 3 years teaching experience in high-performing school preferredExperience:Experience interpreting and using multiple forms of data to inform instructionKnowledge and experience developing and assessing curriculumExperience with integration of instructional technologyExcellent written communication, public speaking and presentations skills
