Summit Design and Engineering is seeking qualified CEI Inspectors for road and bridge construction projects. We are looking for individuals to perform construction inspection (roadway and structure) and materials testing while ensuring compliance with the plans and specifications.\n

Responsibilities:\n\nPerform field inspection and oversight of construction activities under the review and direction of Project Administrator and Sr. Inspector\nMaintain daily reports in SiteManager including detail records of project progress\nAssist Sr. Inspector with coordinating materials sampling and testing \nExperienced with FDOT construction inspection and procedures, SiteManager and MAC\nCoordinate with contractors' staff and effectively communicate with all parties\nPerform standard mathematical calculations\nPerform other tasks as assigned to help the project be successful \n\n

Required Skills and Qualifications:\n\nHigh School Diploma or GED\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in Construction Engineering & Inspection (CEI) for transportation project as described herein\nThorough knowledge of FDOT specifications and standards with ability and willingness to study and advance relevant knowledge outside of work\nThe following qualifications and certifications through FDOT CTQP and\/or ACI are required: CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I; ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician; CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I; CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I; CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection (required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures, lighting structures, and traffic signal structures); IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I; CTQP Final Estimates Level I; FDOT Intermediate MOT; Nuclear Radiation Safety; Florida Stormwater, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors\nProficient in the use of iPad, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Dropbox, SiteManager, MAC and\/or OneDrive\nMust possess good interpersonal, coordination and communication skills\nAble and willing to work either day or night shifts, weekends and\/or flexible schedules as required to support the project requirements\nAble to accept assignments requiring extended travel\nHighly-motivated and able to work independently, use own judgment and make good decisions. \nAble to perform required testing and maintain detailed reports\nAbility to read and interpret roadway, bridge and structure plans, standards and contract specifications\nMust be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 12 hours a day on occasion. \nMust have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel and twist, use hands to grasp and arms to reach, to raise hands above head, to sit, climb and balance and to work in confined spaces and heights with adequate vision to perform tasks\nMust be able to lift and carry up-to 70 pounds, on occasion\nAbility to work outside in various weather conditions \nValid Driver's license with good driving record and ability to drive\n\n
