Summit Design and Engineering Services is seeking a CEI Senior Inspector for Construction Engineering Inspections. The candidate should possess the ability to be the sole representative of the client while on site or may work together with others inspecting construction methods and workmanship to ensure contractor constructs improvements in accordance with plans and specifications. \n

Responsibilities:\n\nUnder the general supervision of the Project Administrator perform highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout including making, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests\nCoordinate and manage lower level inspectors\nMaintain daily reports of inspection work along with detail records of project progress\nReview Contract documents to verify compliance plans and specifications\nCoordinate materials sampling and verification testing and verifying sufficient testing has been performed in MAC\nCoordinate with contractors' staff and effectively communicate with all parties\nPerform standard mathematical calculations\nAttend and participate as needed in project meetings\n\n

Required Skills and Qualifications:\n\nHigh school graduate or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in construction inspection, two (2) years of which shall have been in bridge and\/or roadway construction inspection with the exception of Complex Category 2 (CC2) bridge structures or a Civil Engineering degree and one (1) year of road & bridge CEI experience with the ability to earn additional required qualifications within one year\nMust have supervised two or more inspectors and must have been directly responsible for all inspection requirements related to the construction operations assigned. \nWorking knowledge of mathematics in both algebra, geometry, trigonometry and the ability to apply formulas. \nProficient in the use of iPad, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Dropbox, SiteManager, MAC and\/or OneDrive.\nExperienced with FDOT construction inspection and procedures\nMust possess good interpersonal, coordination and communication skills\nAbility and willingness to work either day or night shifts, weekends and\/or flexible schedules as required to support the project requirements\nAbility to accept assignments requiring extended travel\nHighly-motivated and able to work independently, use own judgment and make good decisions. \nAbility to perform required testing and maintain detailed reports\nAbility to read and interpret roadway, bridge and structure plans, standards and contract specifications\nMust be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 12 hours a day on occasion. \nMust have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel and twist, use hands to grasp and arms to reach, to raise hands above head, to sit, climb and balance and to work in confined spaces and heights with adequate vision to perform tasks\nMust be able to lift and carry up-to 70 pounds, on occasion\nAbility to work outside in various weather conditions \nValid Driver's license with good driving record and ability to drive\n\n
