Cell Biology Research Associate

Description

Responsibilities include:

•\tInitiation and maintenance of plant cell culture lines, isolation and purification of plant protoplasts, and transfection-based delivery of moleculutes to plant protoplasts

•\tFollows SOPs and troubleshoots tissue cultures

•\tConduct plant crossing protocols and support breeding development activities

•\tPerforms medial prep, dilutions, QC, all while following aseptic technique

•\tCleaning of dishware, autoclave lab waste

•\tDesire to improve procedures

•\tWorks independently as well as in a team environment

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Qualifications:

•\tBachelors degree in science (biology, plant breeding, plant sciences is ideal but not required)

•\t6+ months of cell culture/tissue culture (can be from school)

•\t6+ Media preparation experience

•\tAbility to adapt to minor changes in routine to achieve goals/objectives (verified by references)

•\tPassion for the industry (confirmed in a personal statement/bullet point)

•\tStrong attention to detail (verified by references)

•\tStrong collaboration skills (verified by references)

Nice to have qualifications:

•\tPrevious experience with in vitro plant micropropagation and regeneration systems in recalcitrant species

•\t6+ months of in vitro plant micropropagation and regeneration systems experience

•\tplant experience

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00
