RESPONSIBILITIES
The Cell Engineering Manager is key in driving functional excellence through strong management of the engineering team and equipment on site.
By effectively leading the team of engineers, the Engineering Manager supports the delivery of tactical and strategic operational objectives by defining & deploying effective Reliability & Project Engineering activities. Sitting as part of the Operations Management team, this role ensures the safe delivery of the operations plan whilst consistently improving quality and productivity standards.
Your main focus:
Leadership
Engagement and Coordination of the engineers to support execution of the daily workload
Drive functional excellence and effectiveness through training, cross-skilling, coaching and mentoring
Manage associated engineering budgets and overhead spend in line with fiscal plans ensuring best value
Lead in developing and implementing an appropriate maintenance strategy within the production environment.
Ensure all equipment is maintained as per scheduled plan and new equipment/tooling guarantees all products are produced to meet the required quality specification
Ensure the engineers on shift are prioritising tasks effectively to guarantee day to day performance/maintenance/projects are achieved and that all engineers on site can have dedicated time to achieve their individual goals
Be an ambassador of best practice for Coty policies, procedures, techniques and equipment. Ensure personal knowledge is up to date and there is understanding and compliance across the shift, escalating gaps of knowledge accordingly.
Continuous Improvement
Lead Engineering Productivity and Continuous Improvement Capital projects as part of a functional CI program
Continually monitor, optimise and deliver an effective high value RCM Program, achieving aligned downtime reduction and OEE improvement glidepaths supporting work centre consolidation and utilisation initiatives
Technical, Maintenance and GMP
Provide day-to-day technical/functional support to Production and Process Engineering team members
Support and facilitate the effective introduction of NPD/Initiative Launches
Ensure robust and effective Risk Assessment protocols in line with company standards and processes
Regular communication with management team flagging potential risks before they become issues
Understand all risks on site in order to provide practical support through effective allocation of your team
Complete ad-hoc project work when required as per business requirements
The team consists of 10-12 Shift Engineers working on different shift patterns, and you will work closely together with several departments such as Operations, New Product Innovation, Safety, and Quality. All your colleagues are experienced, skilled Engineering/Operational professionals working in a cohesive, fast paced environment. Working in the team, you will experience a high level of support and alignment across functions.
YOU ARE A COTY FIT
You like to work across functional boundaries, managing OPEX/CAPEX activities. As an experienced Cell Engineering Manager you will manage a wide array of challenges, using your team effectively and you get energy from working in a fast-paced, diverse and international environment. Other than that, you:
Minimum HNC in Engineering Discipline, plus relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Minimum 3 years Engineering biased team management experience
Experience of leading World Class Reliability Maintenance Activity
Master the English language on a near native level
