Job Description

The Cell Therapy Associate Scientist exercises extreme accuracy and attention to detail, as well as the ability to adjust to a flexible and sometimes unpredictable work schedule. Knowledge of cell culture, flow cytometry, and research in cell and gene therapy is required. This position is focused on a research project based on the expansion of Hematopoietic Stem Cells from mobilized blood, however, the Cell Therapy Associate Scientist will be helping the manufacturing team as needed.

ResponsibilitiesAdhere to GDP/GTP guidelines.Work with the CSO on developing the research project.Execute experiments needed for the expansion of HSCs (cell culture, etc.).Perform flow cytometry (Cytoflex) to assess cell viability and phenotype.Perform isolation of CD34+ cells by using CliniMACS Prodigy or magnetic beads.Culture CD34+ cells.Perform CFU (Colony Forming Unit) assays.Present data at seminars and conferences when required.Use aseptic techniques while performing cell processing/culture procedures.Investigate and resolve problems with procedures or processes.Work on assigned research projects.Maintain open communications with the CSO to coordinate, schedule, and perform experiments required by the project.Maintain an accurate inventory of cryopreserved products (CD34+).Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, comprehensive, and maintained.Practice proper safety techniques and report any unsafe conditions to management.Assist the manufacturing team as needed.Other duties and procedures as assigned.Essential SkillsCell cultureFlow cytometryResearchStem cellsData analysisAseptic techniquesProblem-solvingMaster's degree in Biology (or equivalent)5 years' professional laboratory experience3 years' experience in cell therapyAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience in gene therapy strongly preferredExperience in research & developmentWork Environment

Team environment, clean room/lab environment. The role offers an opportunity to become a permanent position.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $40.87
