The aim of the University of Pittsburgh's Center for Military Medicine Research (CMMR) is to further diversify the university research revenue and expand upon the current military and VA investments in Pittsburgh. The CMMR focus is on our current and future research efforts that assist the military around all aspects of pre-hospital and hospital-based care across all the Pitt health science schools. The CMMR identifies current and evolving DoD/VA medical research needs and develops multi-disciplinary and multi-organizational-led teams that compete for DoD funding and aim to significantly enhance the health care of active-duty service members and their beneficiaries while also spurring the economic growth in the Pittsburgh region. The essential academic, industry and government partnerships that CMMR fosters, will continue to set a new standard for inviting the United States Armed Forces to join a viable future for health care research and a defense innovation economy that leverages the University of Pittsburgh's strengths in health sciences, engineering and the physical sciences.
